Robert Ogden School achieves Good Ofsted report

We are delighted to share that Robert Ogden School has achieved a ‘Good’ rating from the Office for Standards in Education (Ofsted).

The school was rated ‘Good’ across the board following a visit by Ofsted inspectors in September 2025.

Ofsted identified how pupils feel safe, reassured and well supported at the school, and how they appreciate the positive impact the school makes on their education and personal development.

The report highlighted how the school has: “A strong ambition for pupils with special educational needs and/or disabilities (SEND) to achieve well. They have high expectations for all pupils to be successful. These resonate through the school, from the youngest pupils to those in post-16 provision.”

The report also acknowledged that staff at the school feel valued and supported, and that this positively impacts the teaching and support of pupils, saying: “The school invests in staff development to…strengthen their expertise in identifying any barriers to learning that pupils face. It hones staff’s skills in designing teaching that is tailored to pupils’ individual ages and stages of development.”

Jon Mount, Principal at Robert Ogden School, said: "Our latest Ofsted inspection report really highlighted how supporting autistic children and young people is at the heart of absolutely everything we do at Robert Ogden School. It is rewarding that the Ofsted inspectors saw how the support we give our great staff team can be traced right through to the care and teaching our pupils experience.”

Robert Ogden School has been supporting autistic children and young people since 1977. The dedicated and highly skilled staff provide a caring and friendly environment where autistic children are safe and supported.
